Double-Blind Peer Review with Transparency

Every title in the network, JMVRA included, follows one review method: identities remain concealed during review, and once the paper is published the review is on record for anyone to verify.

While the paper is reviewed

Double-blind

Neither identity is revealed: the author stays hidden from reviewers, and the reviewer from the author.

  • Checked for similarity beforehand (below 15%)
  • Evaluated by subject-matter experts
  • Decision sent by email & WhatsApp
Once it is published

Transparent

The review is recorded, so anyone is able to confirm that it happened.

The Path from Submission to Publication

A paper passes through six stages from upload to a permanent open access article. No payment is due before stage four, and then only if the paper is accepted.

  2. ScreenChecks on scope, declarations and similarity (below 15%)
  3. Double-blind reviewSubject experts review; the decision comes by email & WhatsApp
  4. Accept & paySign the undertaking online; fee ₹971 INR / $41 USD
  5. PublishOpen access under CC BY 4.0; Crossref DOI on request
  6. Transparent recordScholar9 holds the review record; report on request
Publish in your language. JMVRA is multilingual, accepting papers in English, every Indian (local) language and foreign languages. If you write in a language other than English, check with the editorial office before submitting that a language editor and reviewers can be found, and supply the font details and font file — see Publishing in Your Language.

Digital preservation

How Every Published Paper Is Preserved at JMVRA

For now, JMVRA safeguards its archive through its own preservation network. It has started the process of applying to a LOCKSS-based preservation network, which would give libraries independent copies as well.

  1. Now

    Own preservation network

    • Articles have a permanent URL that stays fixed and is never restructured or given to another item
    • Crossref DOIs that resolve independently of the website
    • Archived copies are kept at Zenodo (CERN), with records at OpenAlex and Google Scholar
    • Retracted and withdrawn papers remain online, clearly marked, and are never removed
    • A succession plan, in writing, in case the journal stops publishing
    Archival policy →
  2. In progress

    Our application to join LOCKSS

JMVRA has started applying for a LOCKSS-based network, in which every participating library holds a copy and checks it against the others. The application is under way, and this page will be revised when participation is confirmed.

Deciding Where to Publish

Hold this publisher to the same test as any other. Should a claim on this site prove impossible to verify within a couple of minutes, take that as your answer.

  1. Verify the ISSN in the official register instead of on the journal's own page
  2. Check each indexing claim on the website of the service concerned
  3. Study the peer review description and judge whether it is detailed or generic
  4. Look up the fee ahead of submitting and make sure it falls due only after acceptance
  5. See whether ethics, correction and retraction procedures are published
  6. Find out what your institution demands, since only it can say

Comparing Journals Within a Publisher's Family of Titles

When one publisher runs several journals, authors must still decide which title suits a particular paper. Treat each journal as a separate venue and compare them on their own merits.

  • Judge each title separately. Do not assume the strengths of one journal apply to its siblings. Read every title's scope, policies and recent papers as if it came from a different publisher.
  • Match audience to paper. Think about who will read and cite your work, then choose the journal whose readers resemble them. Audience fit shapes how far your findings travel.
  • Check the review style carefully. Some journals blind authors, others disclose reviewers, and procedures differ. Pick a model you are comfortable with and prepare your manuscript to suit it.
  • Weigh costs against what is offered. Compare charges, timing of payment and services included across titles. Lowest cost is not always best, and a larger charge is not a sign of better handling.
  • Ask colleagues about experiences. Speak to supervisors and peers who have published in the journals you shortlist. First-hand accounts of communication and fairness are valuable additions to online information.

Choose among sibling journals by scope, audience, process and cost, not by shared branding alone.

Questions Researchers Often Ask

Which journals come from JMVRA Publication?

JMVRA Publication’s network publishes 10–15 journals. This page documents the flagship, JMVRA — Journal of Modern and Versatile Research Approach, ISSN 2984-8911, published monthly since June 2023 — and lists two network journals: TIJER (2349-9249, tijer.org) and JNRID (2984-8687, jnrid.org). The wider Journey & Wisdom network is described on the JW Ecosystem page.

Does Google Scholar index JMVRA?

Yes. The journal has its own citation profile on Google Scholar (citation count and h-index are shown on JMVRA's pages once verified and can be checked on the profile) and appears as well in ORWave, Scholar9, Zenodo, the ISSN Portal / ROAD, OpenAlex and Crossref; every one is linked here.

Do Scopus, Web of Science or DOAJ index JMVRA?

No, and the journal says so openly. The impact factor of 11.25 comes from Google Scholar data; it is not a Clarivate Journal Impact Factor.

What is JMVRA's position on UGC and UGC-CARE?

JMVRA is aligned with UGC’s Suggested Parameters for Choosing Peer-Reviewed Journals. JMVRA is a Transparent, Peer-Reviewed, Open Access Journal (Refereed Journal). Following the discontinuation of the UGC and UGC-CARE journal listing, and in alignment with the latest UGC-CARE recommendations and guidelines, JMVRA is aligned with UGC’s Suggested Parameters for Choosing Peer-Reviewed Journals.

How much does publishing cost?

An accepted article carries a charge of ₹971 INR for authors from India and $41 USD for authors abroad, which falls due only once the paper is accepted. Getting a Crossref DOI is optional and done on request.

What does transparent, double-blind peer review mean?

While a paper is under review it is double-blind: reviewers cannot see who wrote it, and authors cannot see who reviewed it. After publication the review becomes transparent: Scholar9 records it so anyone can confirm it took place, reviewers may opt to be named, and the author can request the formal Transparent Peer Review Report. See the JMVRA Peer Review: Transparent & Double-Blind.

How does the journal check for plagiarism?

Turnitin / iThenticate screens every submission ahead of review. Accepted similarity is below 15%, and the author may request the similarity report.

Which languages are accepted for publication?

Papers are welcome in English, every Indian (local) language and foreign languages. When using a language other than English, ask the editorial office before submitting whether a language editor and reviewers are available, and send the font details and font file.

How do the network journals differ from JMVRA?

The standards are shared — transparent, double-blind peer review, open access under CC BY 4.0 and Crossref DOIs — yet every journal has its own ISSN, and Research Wave handles submissions and fees (₹970 / $50). JMVRA charges ₹971 INR / $41 USD itself.
