Special Issues for Researchers in India
India’s universities, colleges and research institutes host a very large number of national and international conferences every year, and many researchers look for a peer-reviewed, open-access outlet for conference papers and themed collections. Since UGC discontinued the UGC-CARE list, institutions judge journals against UGC’s suggested parameters for peer-reviewed journals and their own written rules, so the details of review, identifiers and charges matter more than badges.
JMVRA works entirely online: organisers, guest editors and authors anywhere in India use the same request and submission process. Choose a state, union territory or city below for location-specific guidance.
Academic recognition of any publication depends on your institution’s policies and current regulations — confirm them before you submit.

How to Do a Special Issue in India — Request a Special Issue for Your College
Professors, departments, colleges, universities and research groups in India can propose a special issue of JMVRA on a focused theme — often linked to a conference, a research project or a department's specialisation. You act as guest editor(s) for the theme; JMVRA runs independent peer review and publication.
Request a special issue in India
- Define the theme — a focused topic, its rationale, and the subject areas it covers.
- Name the guest editor(s) — usually the professors or department leading the theme.
- Send the request — use the request form and choose special issue in the description.
- Editorial review — the editorial office reviews the scope, fit and guest-editor details.
- Terms in writing — once the proposal is accepted, scope, responsibilities and schedule are confirmed in writing.
Publish the special issue
- Call for papers — the guest editors invite papers on the theme.
- Submission — papers are sent in the journal template for the special issue.
- Independent peer review — each paper is screened for similarity and reviewed; acceptance is never automatic.
- Publication — accepted papers are published open access, each with a permanent paper ID.
- Optional Crossref DOI — available on request for published papers.
