JMVRA Best Paper Award
Every monthly issue, Journal of Modern and Versatile Research Approach recognises outstanding research: one Best Paper Award winner and two runners-up, selected by the editors for technical quality, contribution to theory, empirical significance, innovation, impact and clarity of presentation.
- 1 winner + 2 runners-up
- 6 criteria
- Certificate for every author
- Indian & international authors
- ISSN 2984-8911
Why JMVRA Runs a Best Paper Award
As part of its ongoing effort to promote high-quality research, JMVRA selects an outstanding paper from each issue, along with two runners-up. The award is open to every discipline the journal publishes — engineering, science, management, social sciences, education, humanities and more.
In selecting the winner, the editors look at the technical quality of the paper, its contribution to theory and the empirical significance of its findings. They also weigh innovation, significance to the research community, likely impact, and the clarity of presentation.
Recognition is only meaningful when the review behind it is sound: every eligible paper has already passed JMVRA’s peer review and similarity screening before publication.
What the editors look for
- A clear research question and a design that answers it
- Findings supported by data, not only by argument
- An original idea or a new application of an existing one
- Relevance beyond the paper’s own sample or setting
- Writing a reader outside the sub-field can follow
Winner and Two Runners-Up in Every Issue
Best Paper Award
Winner of the issue — the highest recognition for an outstanding research contribution.
1st Runner-Up
Recognition for excellent research quality and academic impact.
2nd Runner-Up
Recognition for a significant contribution to the research community.
The Six Criteria Used to Select the Best Paper
Each nominated paper is read against the same six criteria, so papers from different subjects are compared on the qualities that matter in every field.
Technical Quality
Methodological rigour, research design and soundness of analysis.
Contribution to Theory
Advances an existing theoretical framework or develops a new one.
Empirical Significance
Strength, reliability and relevance of the paper’s findings.
Innovation
Novel ideas, creative approaches and original perspectives.
Impact
Likely influence on the research community and on real-world practice.
Clarity of Presentation
Clear writing, logical structure and effective communication.
How to Strengthen Your Nomination
The editors read each nominated paper against the six criteria. A strong nomination makes each one easy to see — these are the questions to ask of your own paper first.
Technical Quality
State the research question, design and sample plainly in the abstract, and report how the data were analysed.
Contribution to Theory
Say in one sentence what the paper adds to existing theory, and name the framework it extends or challenges.
Empirical Significance
Point to the result that matters most and show how reliable it is — sample size, tests, robustness.
Innovation
Explain what is new: the idea, the method, the data or the setting — and why no earlier study did it.
Impact
Describe who can use the findings — researchers, practitioners or policymakers — and how.
Clarity of Presentation
Check that the structure, figures and conclusions can be followed by a reader outside your sub-field.
