The fee structure at JMVRA depends on a single principle: your paper is not charged for until it has been accepted. Authors are thereby protected from paying for a rejected paper, yet acceptance also makes the fee payment for editorial work that has already been done (peer review coordination, formatting, indexing preparation), so it is not a deposit to be returned later.
| Scenario | Refund Eligibility |
|---|---|
| Paper turned down after review | Nothing charged (the fee arises only after acceptance) |
| Author pulls out before paying anything | No charge applicable |
| Paper accepted, fee settled | Non-refundable |
| Paper published successfully | Non-refundable |
| Author withdraws once payment is made (whether before or after publication) | No refund — the fee covered editorial work on an accepted paper that has been completed |
| Payment duplicated by mistake | The duplicate amount is corrected in full |
| Fault in the payment gateway | Complete correction inside 7 working days |
Corrections for duplicate payments and gateway errors fix a charge that was never validly due; they are not exceptions to the no-refund rule covering a genuine, accepted publication fee. Keep your payment evidence in case a correction is ever needed.
How to Ask for a Billing Correction
- Send an email to [email protected] including proof of payment and the submission ID
- Once approved, corrections take 7–14 working days to process
- The corrected amount goes back to the source of the original payment
- JMVRA may refuse corrections where there is misconduct or a breach of policy
No-Refund Conditions
- Following acceptance of the paper and payment of the publication fee
- Once the paper is online
- Where the author gave false or misleading information in the submission
- Where the paper was retracted because the author's misconduct was confirmed
The Fee Timeline
This page shows the Refund Policy in practice. The complete, binding text is the JMVRA Refund Policy, so read both before submitting.
- 1Submit — free
Submitting costs nothing.
- 2Review — free
The paper goes through review, and the decision reaches you by email and WhatsApp.
- 3Acceptance — fee becomes payable
Indian authors pay ₹971 INR, and foreign authors pay $41 USD. The payment details are sent from [email protected].
- 4Payment — receipt by email
After payment a receipt is sent by email, and a GST invoice follows within 48 hours when you have supplied your GSTIN.
- 5Publication
Once payment is complete, the paper enters the publishing queue.
Avoid Payment Mistakes
- Make payment only when the acceptance email has reached you.
- Rely solely on the account details sent from [email protected] — and never pay anyone who approaches you through another channel.
- Transfer the amount for your author category, which is ₹971 INR for Indian authors or $41 USD for foreign authors.
- When a payment fails, look at your bank statement before trying again, since this is where most duplicate payments begin.
- Save the transaction ID (UTR) together with a payment screenshot.
- Provide your GSTIN while paying if a GST invoice is needed (GST Policy).

Billing Correction Examples

Practical Tips for Handling Fee Timing and Billing Corrections
Payment questions are easiest to settle when your records are tidy and you act promptly. These habits help you pay once, pay correctly and resolve any mismatch without long email exchanges.
- Wait for the payment request. Pay only after you receive a clear payment request for your accepted manuscript, and use the instructions given there, not a link forwarded by a colleague or found elsewhere.
- Screenshot every confirmation screen. Keep a screenshot and the bank or card message for each attempt. A failed transaction that still debited your account is far easier to trace when you hold timestamps and reference codes.
- Avoid retrying in a hurry. If a page freezes or an app times out, check your statement before paying again. Hasty second attempts are a common reason for duplicate charges that later need correction.
- Write a complete correction request. Quote the manuscript identifier, author name, payer name, transaction reference and the exact discrepancy in your message. Attach evidence once, in a single tidy email, rather than in scattered follow-ups.
- Check who is paying. If a department or sponsor pays on your behalf, tell the journal the payer's name in advance so the receipt and records match the right manuscript.
Pay only when asked, keep proof of every attempt, and send one complete, well-documented message if anything looks wrong.
