This page sets out JMVRA's own transparency practices, organised by the categories that DOAJ's principles expect any open-access journal to disclose. It does not claim a present DOAJ listing. To check JMVRA's real DOAJ status, search doaj.org yourself, and read our dedicated DOAJ guide to learn how.

Practice vs Certification
A journal may truly follow the transparency principles of DOAJ without being listed in DOAJ at present; these are related but distinct facts, and this page is careful to claim only the first. Always keep the two statements apart when you evaluate any journal.

Using a Journal's Transparency Statement as a Reader
A transparency statement is only useful when readers actually test it. Here is a short routine for turning each public claim into something you can check yourself.
- Turn each claim into a test. Take a statement such as named ownership or stated ethics policy and decide what evidence you would expect to see on the site, then go and look for it.
- Compare pages for consistency. Fees, contact details and review descriptions should read the same on the home page, the guidelines and the submission form. Contradictions are worth raising with the editorial office.
- Read a few published articles. Open recent papers and check that the licence, author details and publication information match what the statement promises. Practice on the page is stronger evidence than promises.
- Write down unanswered questions. If something is unclear, send a short, polite query to the editorial office and keep the reply. A prompt, specific answer is itself a useful sign about how the journal operates.
- Separate promises from certifications. A statement describes what a journal commits to do. It is not an external certificate, so combine it with independent checks rather than treating it as final proof.
Read the statement as a checklist of promises, then confirm each one through the live pages and published papers.
