Most authors meet a publisher through exactly one page: the journal they are submitting to. That is enough to get a paper published, and for many people it is all they will ever need. But it leaves a natural question unanswered — what else exists once the paper is written?

Journey & Wisdom Publications is the publishing house behind JMVRA and a group of related platforms covering journal publication, academic book publication, repository archiving, CrossRef DOI registration, plagiarism and similarity checking, editorial workflow software and conference management. This article is the map: every domain, what it actually does, who it is for, and how the pieces fit together.

Why one publisher runs seventeen domains

Because they are seventeen different jobs. A journal platform, a book publishing house, a DOI registration agency relationship, a similarity-checking service, an editorial workflow system and a conference platform have different users, different obligations and different failure modes. A DOI deposit has ongoing metadata responsibilities that a book launch does not. A conference has a hard date; a journal issue does not. A plagiarism report is confidential in a way a published article is precisely not.

Collapsing all of that into one website would not simplify anything — it would hide six services behind whichever one happened to be on the homepage. Separating them keeps each purpose legible, and lets each platform be judged on its own evidence, which is exactly what this guide will ask you to do at the end.

What this article is not

It is not a claim that every platform below suits your manuscript, and it is not a substitute for your own checking. Each platform has its own scope, its own editorial process and its own charges. Publishing with JMVRA does not publish your work anywhere else, and none of the optional services described here is compulsory. Read the section on verification before you commit anything to any publisher — including this one.

Already know your paper fits JMVRA? Skip the tour — read the current call for papers to confirm scope and deadlines, then submit online.

The Journey & Wisdom Network Map

Thirteen publication platforms around the outside; four shared services in the middle that every one of them uses.

Journey and Wisdom Publications network map Journey and Wisdom Publications sits at the centre. Around it are four shared services — JWSCAN for plagiarism checking, JWJMS for journal management, JWDOI for CrossRef DOI registration and JWCMT for conference management. Outside those sit the thirteen publication platforms: ijwave.org, orwave.org, openrgate.org, jwbook.org, jwpublication.org, jwbpn.org, er-society.org, ijpublication.org, japwave.org, jrwave.org, jwwave.org, scholarrpn.org and researchwave.org. Every platform is listed with its full description in the cards and the directory table on this page. Thirteen publication platforms

Journal & Book Publication Platforms

Every domain below publishes peer-reviewed journal content, academic books, or both. Each card gives the website, what it does and who it suits.

International Journal Wave

ijwave.org Journal & book publication

International Journal Wave is the group’s international-facing publication platform for peer-reviewed journal articles and academic books. It carries the same editorial expectations as the rest of the network — declared scope, documented review, registered identifiers and a permanent archive — for authors publishing to an international readership rather than a purely regional one.

Best for: International authors and cross-border collaborations looking for one platform that handles both journal papers and books.

Open Research Wave

orwave.org Journal & book publication

Open Research Wave is the open-access arm of the network and the sister domain to OpenRGATE.org. It exists so that finished research does not disappear behind a paywall: articles and book chapters are published for open reading, with metadata deposited so discovery services can find them.

Best for: Authors with an open-access mandate from a funder or institution, and anyone who wants readers to reach the full text without a subscription.

Open Research Gate

openrgate.org Repository, discovery & publication

OpenRGATE.org is the network’s free open-access repository and journal discovery platform. It archives scholarly content and helps authors find peer-reviewed, indexed journals rather than guessing from advertising. Because it is a repository as well as a publisher-side platform, it is often the last step of a publication — the place a finished paper is deposited so it stays findable.

Best for: Depositing accepted work, preprints and supporting material, and for searching journals before you commit a manuscript.

JW Book

jwbook.org Book publication & similarity intake

JW Book is the network’s book publishing platform: edited volumes, monographs, conference proceedings, thesis-to-book conversions and textbook projects, each with ISBN handling, editorial support and production. It also hosts the group’s similarity-check request form, which is where manuscripts are submitted for an iThenticate report before publication.

Best for: Book authors and volume editors — and any author who needs a similarity report before submitting a paper.

JW Publication

jwpublication.org Journal & book publication

JW Publication is the publishing house’s own front door — the platform that presents Journey & Wisdom Publications as a publisher rather than as any single journal. It covers both sides of the business, journals and books, and is the natural starting point if you do not yet know which title or platform your work belongs in.

Best for: Authors, institutions and societies who want to understand the publisher before choosing a specific journal.

Journal Wave & Book Publication Network

jwbpn.org Network hub

JWBPN is the connective tissue of the group: the network layer that ties the individual journals, book platforms and shared services together. Where a single journal site answers “what do you publish?”, the network answers “what else is available once your paper is written?” — DOI registration, similarity checking, repository deposit, conference proceedings and book publication.

Best for: Anyone evaluating the group as a whole, and editors looking for the full service list in one place.

Engineering Research Society

er-society.org Society, journal & book publication

Engineering Research Society is the network’s engineering-focused society platform, publishing journal articles and books in engineering and applied technology. A society platform differs from a general journal in emphasis: subject communities, discipline-specific review and proceedings from engineering events sit at the centre rather than at the edge.

Best for: Engineering and technology researchers, departments and engineering conference organisers.

International Journal Publication

ijpublication.org Journal & book publication

International Journal Publication is a broad, multidisciplinary publication platform covering journal articles and academic books across science, engineering, management, humanities and social sciences. Its remit is deliberately wide, which makes it useful for interdisciplinary work that does not sit cleanly inside one subject journal.

Best for: Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary manuscripts that straddle two or more fields.

Journal & Publication Wave

japwave.org Journal & book publication

Journal & Publication Wave is a general publication platform in the Wave family, handling peer-reviewed articles and book projects end to end — submission, review coordination, production, identifier registration and archiving.

Best for: Authors who want a straightforward, general-purpose route to publication for a single paper or book.

Journal & Research Wave

jrwave.org Journal & book publication

Journal & Research Wave sits alongside JAPWave in the Wave family with a research-output emphasis — original studies, empirical work and research reports, published as journal articles or collected into books.

Best for: Research groups and scholars publishing primary studies and empirical results.

Journal Wave

jwwave.org Journal & book publication

Journal Wave is the flagship Wave platform and the name the rest of the family is built around — JWDOI, JWJMS, JWSCAN and JWCMT all take their prefix from it. It publishes peer-reviewed journal content and books, and functions as the reference point for how the Wave platforms operate.

Best for: Authors who want the core Wave publishing route, and readers trying to understand how the JW-prefixed services relate.

Scholar Research Publication Network

scholarrpn.org Scholar network & publication

Scholar Research Publication Network is the scholar-facing side of the group: a publication network organised around researchers and their output rather than around a single journal title. Its purpose is visibility — connecting an author’s published work, profile and citations so the record travels with the researcher.

Best for: Individual scholars building a visible, connected publication record across several titles.

Research Wave

researchwave.org Journal & book publication

Research Wave is the research-dissemination platform of the family, publishing journal articles and books with an emphasis on getting completed research in front of the readers who can use it — through open metadata, repository deposit and discovery-service feeds.

Best for: Authors whose priority is reach and citation rather than a specific journal brand.

Four shared services

DOI, Plagiarism Checking, Journal Management & Conferences

These four do not publish anything themselves. They are the infrastructure every publication platform in the network runs on — and each is available to authors, editors and organisers outside it too.

JW Scan — jwscan.org

Plagiarism & similarity checking

JWSCAN is the network’s similarity-checking service. It runs manuscripts through professional similarity detection — iThenticate by Turnitin, the publisher-grade tool that searches subscription scholarly content a student Turnitin account never sees — and returns a report with an overall similarity index plus a source-by-source breakdown. That breakdown is the part that matters: a single percentage decides nothing on its own, because a correctly quoted and cited passage and a copied paragraph can produce the same number.

  • iThenticate by Turnitin similarity report
  • Overall index plus matched-source breakdown
  • Checked before submission, not after acceptance
  • Does not add your file to a student repository
  • Requests submitted via jwbook.org/similarity-check

JW JMS — jwjms.org

Journal management system

JWJMS is the journal management system behind the network — the editorial workflow software that moves a manuscript from submission through desk screening, reviewer assignment, revision rounds and the final decision, keeping a record of each step. Authors experience it as a submission portal and a status page; editors experience it as the system that stops manuscripts falling through the cracks.

  • Online submission and author dashboards
  • Reviewer invitation, reminders and report collection
  • Revision rounds with a full decision history
  • Issue building and publication scheduling
  • Editorial records that survive staff changes

JW DOI — jwdoi.org

CrossRef DOI registration

JWDOI handles Digital Object Identifier registration and metadata deposit for the network. A CrossRef DOI is what makes a published article permanently citable: the identifier resolves to the article no matter how the site is later reorganised, and the deposited metadata — title, authors, affiliations, references, ISSN, licence — is what feeds citation linking and discovery services. Registration is a deposit process with obligations attached, not a badge that can simply be displayed.

  • Permanent, resolvable article identifiers
  • Full CrossRef metadata deposit
  • Reference linking to and from other publishers
  • Metadata updates when article details change
  • Works for journal articles, books, chapters and proceedings

JW CMT — jwcmt.org

Conference management & tracking

JWCMT is the Journal Wave Conference Management & Tracking System — the platform organisers use to run an academic conference end to end: call for papers, abstract and full-paper submission, reviewer allocation, acceptance notification, registration, scheduling and proceedings. Because it sits inside the same network, accepted conference papers can move into journal or proceedings publication without being re-keyed.

  • Call for papers and submission portal
  • Reviewer allocation and decision tracking
  • Registration and delegate management
  • Programme and session scheduling
  • A route from accepted paper to published proceedings

A similarity report and a CrossRef DOI are optional add-ons, not requirements. The paper comes first — read the call for papers and submit, then decide on extras.

How the Platforms Connect on One Manuscript

Follow a single paper through the network and the reason for seventeen domains becomes obvious.

A manuscript's route through the network Seven stages: the manuscript is written, checked for similarity with JWSCAN, submitted through JWJMS, peer reviewed, published on a journal or book platform, registered with a CrossRef DOI through JWDOI, and finally archived and made discoverable through OpenRGATE and Open Research Wave. Optional stages are marked. Each stage is described in the text on this page. 1. Manuscriptwritten 2. JWSCANsimilarity check 3. JWJMSsubmission 4. Peer reviewand revision 5. Publishedjournal or book 6. JWDOICrossRef DOI 7. OpenRGATEarchive & discovery optionaloptionaloptional charges due only after acceptance JWCMT replaces stages 2–4 for a conference paper

Reading the pipeline

Stage 1 — the manuscript. Nothing in the network helps a paper that is not ready. Formatting, references, ethics declarations and author order belong here, before anything else happens.

Stage 2 — JWSCAN (optional). A similarity report before submission is cheaper and less painful than a similarity problem after acceptance. It is optional, and some authors arrive with an institutional report already in hand.

Stage 3 — JWJMS. Submission enters the editorial workflow system. From this point there is a record: who received it, when, who was invited to review, and what was decided.

Stage 4 — peer review. Reviewer reports, revision rounds and the editorial decision. Acceptance, minor revision, major revision and rejection are all normal outcomes; a process that produces only acceptances is not a process.

Stage 5 — publication. The paper appears on the journal or book platform. This is the point at which publication charges become due — not at submission.

Stage 6 — JWDOI (optional). A CrossRef DOI is registered and metadata deposited, making the article permanently citable and connecting it to the wider reference-linking network.

Stage 7 — OpenRGATE and Open Research Wave (optional). Deposit into the open repository, so the work stays findable independently of any one journal site.

For a conference paper, JWCMT covers stages two through four inside the event: submission, reviewer allocation and acceptance all happen in the conference system, and accepted papers move into proceedings or journal publication from there.

That whole pipeline starts with one action. Confirm your topic against the current call for papers, then submit your manuscript online.

How the pieces connect

One paper, start to finish, across the network

The four shared services each appear once on this path; none of the optional ones is required to publish.

  1. Check originalityA JWSCAN similarity report before submission, so the manuscript arrives clean.
  2. Submit to the journalThrough the official submission page; the editorial workflow runs on JWJMS.
  3. Peer reviewReviewers assigned, reports collected, a decision recorded — and sent by email and SMS.
  4. Publish open accessThe paper appears in the monthly issue under CC BY 4.0 with a permanent paper ID.
  5. Add a Crossref DOIOptional, through JWDOI — priced on the DOI page.
  6. Deposit and discoverArchived on OpenRGATE so the record stays findable after the issue closes.
The book route

Book Publication: JW Book, JW Publication & JWBPN

Book publication runs on a different clock from journal publication and involves different decisions. A journal article is assessed as a single contribution; a book is assessed as a structure — does the argument hold across chapters, is the coverage complete, who is the reader? Three platforms in the network handle that side: jwbook.org for the book platform itself, jwpublication.org as the publisher’s front door, and jwbpn.org as the network layer connecting book projects to the journals and services around them.

What the book platforms handle

  • Monographs — a single sustained work by one author or a small team.
  • Edited volumes — chapters from many contributors, coordinated by volume editors.
  • Textbooks — course-aligned material with a defined syllabus audience.
  • Conference proceedings — accepted papers from an event, collected and published as a volume, usually arriving from JWCMT.
  • Thesis-to-book conversion — restructuring a completed dissertation for a reading audience rather than an examining committee.

What to settle before you start

Ask the same questions a careful author asks of a journal, plus a few that are specific to books: who holds copyright and under what licence; whether an ISBN is registered and in whose name; what the production schedule is; how many contributor copies are included; what the print and distribution arrangement is; and exactly what the charge covers. Get all of it in writing before a manuscript changes hands.

Our own book publication process, formats and charges are set out on the Book Publication page, and the dissertation route on the Thesis Publication page.

Publishing a chapter rather than a book? Chapters and full papers both go through the same submission page — check the open calls first.

The conference route

Running an Event with JWCMT

jwcmt.org — Journal Wave Conference Management & Tracking System.

A conference is a publication problem with a deadline attached. Abstracts arrive in bulk, reviewers have days rather than weeks, decisions must go out on a fixed date, registration has to be reconciled against acceptances, and the proceedings have to be assembled while everyone is exhausted. JWCMT exists to make that survivable.

What organisers use it for

  • Call for papers — a public page with tracks, dates, templates and submission rules.
  • Submission intake — abstracts and full papers, versioned, with author details captured once.
  • Reviewer allocation — assignment by track or keyword, with reminders and report collection.
  • Decisions and notification — acceptance, revision and rejection notices sent from one place with a record kept.
  • Registration — delegate and presenter registration linked to accepted papers.
  • Programme scheduling — sessions, chairs, rooms and the printed programme.
  • Proceedings — accepted papers into a published volume, and from there into DOI registration if the organisers want permanent identifiers.

Because JWCMT sits inside the same network, an accepted conference paper does not have to be re-keyed to become a published one — the metadata already exists, and the route into proceedings or journal publication is a continuation rather than a fresh start.

Your starting point

Where JMVRA Fits

Journal of Modern and Versatile Research Approach (JMVRA), ISSN 2984-8911, is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by Journey & Wisdom Publications. It is one journal inside the network described above — not the network itself. If your manuscript fits our scope, this is where it goes; if it does not, the broader multidisciplinary platforms exist for exactly that reason, and saying so is more useful to you than pretending every paper belongs here.

What publishing with JMVRA includes

  • Online publication of the complete paper, for up to five authors.
  • An individual softcopy Certificate of Publication for every author.
  • A softcopy confirmation letter of publication.
  • Author and paper handling, plus basic formatting and typesetting.
  • A unique paper identification number.
  • Listing in the JMVRA digital library and major indexing databases.
  • An automated citation generator for your published paper.
  • Lifetime availability in our digital repository and on the journal website.

What costs extra, and is optional

CrossRef DOI registration through JWDOI, printed certificates, hard copies of the journal, similarity reports through JWSCAN and the transparent peer-review report are separate line items with published prices. None of them is required to publish. The Publication Charges page carries the base fee and the DOI & Hard Copy page carries the add-ons.

Charges become due after acceptance, never at submission. Read the Payment Terms before paying, and pay only through the accounts listed on our official payment pages.

Ready when you are. Read what is currently open, then submit through the official page — nothing is payable until your paper is accepted.

Verify Any Platform — Including Ours

A network map is a claim. Here is how to check it, using sources that do not belong to us.

  1. Check the ISSN. Search the ISSN Portal and confirm the registered title matches the journal exactly.
  2. Check the editors. Named editors, current affiliations, subject expertise you can verify independently — not a list of initials.
  3. Read the peer-review policy. Which model, how reviewers are chosen, how conflicts are handled, who decides.
  4. Read the ethics policy. Plagiarism, authorship, competing interests, AI use, corrections and retractions.
  5. Open several DOIs. Do they resolve? Does the metadata match the article? Search Crossref Metadata Search.
  6. Verify every indexing claim at its source. Scopus Sources and the Clarivate Master Journal List are the records that count — never a logo on a website.
  7. Read the complete fee. Base charge, per-author charges, DOI, certificates, hard copies, taxes, refund terms.
  8. Ask your institution. Get the current written rule from whoever will assess your publication, before you submit or pay.

On the phrase you are almost certainly searching for: UGC discontinued the UGC CARE journal listing framework in October 2024, so no journal in India can produce a current CARE certificate. What a UGC CARE Approved Journal was meant to signal — real review, real editors, published ethics, honest indexing, a permanent record — is all still checkable through the eight steps above. Our full guide walks through each one.

Before you commit

Verify any platform here before you trust it

Apply the same six checks to JMVRA — the ten-point quality guide walks through each one.

  • Look the ISSN up on the ISSN Portal and compare the title and publisher shown.
  • Find named editors with affiliations you can check independently.
  • Read the peer-review and ethics policies in full, not the badges.
  • Open several published DOIs and confirm each resolves to the right article.
  • Check every indexing claim in the database’s own source list.
  • Read the complete fee, the payment stage and the refund terms before paying anyone.

Journey & Wisdom Publications FAQs

These visible answers also power the FAQ structured data on this page.

What is Journey & Wisdom Publications?

Journey & Wisdom Publications is the publishing house behind JMVRA and a group of related journal, book, repository and publishing-service platforms. Rather than one website doing everything, the group runs separate domains for publication, DOI registration, similarity checking, journal management and conference management.

Why does one publisher run so many different domains?

Because they do different jobs. A journal platform, a book publishing house, a DOI registration service, a plagiarism-checking service, an editorial workflow system and a conference platform have different users and different obligations. Separating them keeps each one’s purpose legible instead of burying six services inside one homepage.

Are all of these platforms the same journal?

No. They are separate platforms with separate remits. JMVRA is one journal within the group. Publishing with JMVRA does not automatically publish your work anywhere else, and each platform has its own scope, editorial process and charges.

Which platform should I use for a research paper?

If your paper fits JMVRA’s scope, submit here — read the current call for papers first. If it does not, the broader multidisciplinary platforms such as ijpublication.org, ijwave.org and researchwave.org exist for exactly that case.

Which platform do I use for a book?

jwbook.org and jwpublication.org handle book publication — monographs, edited volumes, textbooks, conference proceedings and thesis-to-book projects. Our own book publication page explains the process, formats and charges.

What is jwdoi.org used for?

JWDOI handles CrossRef DOI registration and metadata deposit. A DOI gives your article a permanent, resolvable identifier and puts its metadata into the citation-linking network, so references to your paper keep working even if a site is reorganised years later.

Does a DOI from jwdoi.org mean my paper is indexed in Scopus?

No, and no DOI service anywhere can promise that. A DOI is a persistent identifier and a metadata deposit. Selective databases such as Scopus and Web of Science run their own source-selection processes. Verify any indexing claim in the database’s own source list.

What is jwscan.org and how is it different from a free plagiarism checker?

JWSCAN provides professional similarity checking through iThenticate by Turnitin. Unlike free web checkers, it searches subscription scholarly content from major publishers, which is where most undetected overlap in academic writing actually sits. It returns an overall similarity index plus a source-by-source breakdown.

Will checking my paper on jwscan.org get it flagged as plagiarised later?

No. iThenticate does not deposit your manuscript into the student repository the way a Turnitin class submission does, so a pre-submission check does not cause your own paper to match against itself afterwards. That is one of the main reasons researchers are told to use iThenticate rather than a student account.

What similarity percentage is acceptable?

There is no universal number, and any journal quoting one without looking at the report is not reading it properly. A single percentage can come from correctly quoted and cited material or from copied text — the source-by-source breakdown is what distinguishes them.

What is jwjms.org?

JWJMS is the journal management system: the editorial workflow software that carries a manuscript from submission through screening, reviewer assignment, revisions and the final decision, keeping a record of each step. Authors see it as a submission portal and status page; editors see it as the system that keeps a journal auditable.

What is jwcmt.org used for?

JWCMT is the Journal Wave Conference Management & Tracking System. Conference organisers use it for the call for papers, submissions, reviewer allocation, acceptance decisions, registration, scheduling and proceedings — and accepted papers can move into publication without being re-entered by hand.

What is the difference between openrgate.org and orwave.org?

They are sister platforms on the open-access side of the group. OpenRGATE.org is the repository and journal discovery platform — where finished work is deposited and where authors search for journals. Open Research Wave is the open-access publication platform. In practice most authors meet OpenRGATE at the end of a publication and Open Research Wave at the start.

Is er-society.org only for engineering?

That is its focus. Engineering Research Society publishes journal articles and books in engineering and applied technology, and hosts engineering event proceedings. Work outside engineering fits better on the multidisciplinary platforms.

What does scholarrpn.org do that a journal does not?

Scholar Research Publication Network is organised around researchers rather than titles. Its purpose is to connect an author’s published work, profile and citations so the record travels with the scholar across journals instead of being scattered.

Are these platforms UGC CARE Approved Journals?

UGC discontinued the UGC CARE listing framework in October 2024, so no journal anywhere can show a current CARE certificate. What you can and should check is the evidence the CARE framework was trying to enforce — ISSN, a named editorial board, a documented peer-review process, published ethics, working CrossRef DOIs and honest indexing claims — and then confirm your own institution’s current written rule.

How much does publication cost?

JMVRA publishes its charges in full: ₹971 INR for Indian authors and $41 USD for international authors. The charge covers online publication of the complete paper for up to five authors, individual softcopy certificates, a confirmation letter, formatting, a unique paper ID, digital library listing and lifetime availability. Optional items — CrossRef DOI, printed certificates, hard copies and similarity reports — are priced separately and listed openly. Other platforms in the network publish their own charges.

When do I pay, and is the fee refundable?

Charges become due after your paper is accepted, not at submission. Under the published refund policy payments are non-refundable once an article has been accepted, so read the Payment Terms page in full before paying — and never pay an account or contact that is not listed on our official payment pages.

Do I have to use the other platforms if I publish with JMVRA?

No. They are available, not compulsory. A CrossRef DOI, a similarity report, a printed hard copy and a repository deposit are each optional add-ons with their own published price. Publishing your paper does not require any of them.

How do I verify that any of these platforms is genuine?

Exactly the way you should verify any publisher: check the ISSN on the ISSN Portal, look for named editors with checkable affiliations, read the peer-review and ethics policies, open several published DOIs and confirm they resolve correctly, verify indexing claims in each database’s own source list, and read the complete fee before paying. Our ten-point journal quality guide walks through each check.

Where do I submit a paper right now?

Read the current call for papers to confirm scope, deadlines and article types, then submit through the official online submission page. Those are the only two links you need to start.
